BOSTON (AP) — Eligible voters in Massachusetts are facing a registration deadline for the state primary.
Secretary of State William Galvin says Friday is the last day for people who are not already registered to vote to sign up if they wish to participate in the Sept. 8 primary.
Friday is also the deadline for making any changes in party affiliation.
Under state law, voters enrolled in a political party must vote in that party’s primary. Voters designated as unenrolled can vote in the primary of their choice.
There are no statewide races on this year’s primary election ballot, but nominees will be chosen in congressional and legislative districts, and for some county offices.
