BATAVIA, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say they’ve charged a 28-year-old western New York man with manslaughter in the death of his 6-month-old son.
Police in the city of Batavia tell The Daily News of Batavia (http://bit.ly/13fxD6l ) that Chandler Deats was taken to United Memorial Medical Center late Sunday morning after being discovered unresponsive. He was pronounced dead shortly afterward.
Officials say they charged Jeffrey Deats with manslaughter. He’s being held in the Genesee County Jail. It couldn’t be determined if he has a lawyer.
The cause of death hasn’t been released.
Authorities are expected to release more information at a news conference later Thursday morning.
