Propane delivery bill passes NY Assembly

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The bill that would allow people with leased tanks to get refills from other companies during times of urgent need passed in the state assembly on Wednesday.

The legislation proposed by Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara came after NEWS10 ABC investigative reports on a company called Ferrellgas. Many customers said they had a difficult time getting refills during dangerously cold temperatures.

Santabarbara said lawmakers are doing everything they can to give people options when they’re in crisis.

The bill still has to pass the senate and then be approved by the governor. In the meantime, the attorney general is investigating possible misconduct by propane suppliers across the region.
