Police: Man dies after afternoon shooting in Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Albany Police are investigating after a man died following a shooting on Thursday.

Officers responded to the area of First Street and Quail Street for a report of shots fired.

Responding officers were notified a short time later that a vehicle pulled over on Henry Johnson Boulevard near Third Street for an occupant that flagged down a Mohawk Ambulance to inform them he had been shot.

The victim, 35-year-old Anthony Malloy, was treated by medical personnel from the ambulance and the Albany Fire Department for gunshot wounds to the torso.

He was transported to Albany Medical Center where he later died.

The shooting remains under investigation.
