JONESVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) – An adult male was killed in a house fire on Saint Andrews Drive in Jonesville Friday night, the fire chief said.
The fire took place shortly before 8:30 p.m. on the second floor of the residence. Fire crews were able to get the fire under control in under 20 minutes.
The man who died was identified as 41-year-old Jason Powers. He lived in the home with his mother. She was not home at the time.
Investigators said Powers was not able to make it out of the home, and an autopsy determined he died from inhaling too much smoke.
