47-year-old Schenectady man in stable condition after Schenectady St. shooting

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Schenectady Police have confirmed one man was found with a gunshot wound, but they are still trying to determine where he was when he was injured.

They found him inside this home at 308 Schenectady Street.

Police say a 911 call came in at 1:45 p.m. for a report of a male possibly bleeding from the head. Officers responded to the scene and were directed by someone to an address at 308 Schenectady Street.

Police say inside the first-floor apartment they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound but could not say where exactly the gunshot wound was. Police say he was treated on scene by medics from the fire department and transported to Ellis Hospital.

Police have identified the victim as 47-year-old Kenny Barros, of Schenectady. Police say Barros is currently at Albany Medical Center in stable condition.

“Until we get a little bit more information as to exactly what may have happened it’s tough to make any determination right now. We’re open to any and all possibilities and as for right now we still haven’t determined if it happened inside the residence or outside, Sgt. Matt Dearing said.
