Man accused of sexually assaulting UAlbany student indicted

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The Albany County District Attorney’s Office says a man was indicted in an alleged sexual assault case that happened in October.

Franklin Casatelli, 25, of Guilderland, N.Y., was indicted on first-degree rape, second-degree burglary as a sexually motivated felony, second-degree attempted burglary as a sexually motivated felony, third-degree criminal trespass.

The DA says Casatelli unlawfully entered a residential student suite on the SUNY Albany Campus and engaged in sexual intercourse with a woman who was incapable of consent at the time.

The indictment also alleges that Casatelli attempted to enter another residential suite on Dutch Quad with the intent to commit a crime.

Casatelli remains in custody at the time.
