GLENVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A stretch of road was closed off Wednesday after a truck tried to go under a bridge it was simply too big for in Glenville.
Glenville police say that the driver of the truck was looking at his GPS when he hit the bottom of the Hetcheltown Road overpass on Glenridge Road which supports train tracks. No one was injured.
He says the driver made it through one of two overpasses, but hit the second one which is just under 11 feet high.
Two tow trucks had to be called in to remove that tractor trailer: One was taking the cab of the truck, the other towing away the container portion.
A stretch of road there was closed between Maple Avenue and Bruce Drive. That’s right by the roundabout where Maple Avenue changes from Route 29 to Route 31.
The road has since been reopened.
