BOSTON (NEWS10) – A Massachusetts selectman, with the help of a state legislator, wants to change the day that Halloween is celebrated in the state.

Instead of celebrating Halloween on October 31, it would be celebrated on the last Saturday in October.

The Boston Globe reports that Pembroke selectman Arthur Boyle wants to change the date of Halloween to make it easier for parents to spend time with their kids and allow authorities to better plan for Halloween.

The next time Halloween will fall on a Saturday will be in the year 2020.
