Alain Kaloyeros, Joe Percoco plead not guilty to corruption charges

MANHATTAN, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Eight men charged in a bid-rigging scheme pleaded not guilty to federal corruption charges Thursday morning before a U.S. District Court Judge in Manhattan.

Among them was former CEO of SUNY Polytech, Alain Kaloyeros and former top adviser to Governor Cuomo, Joe Percoco. They, along with six others, are facing multiple charges from what U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara’s office calls two wide-ranging, and overlapping criminal schemes.

Those charges include fraud conspiracy, bribery and extortion. A tentative trial date has been set for March 1.
