COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A local bank, school, and fast-food chain are teaming up to help keep kids warm this season.

They’re partnering with the sixth annual Toys for Tots train, which will make stops throughout the Capital Region next month.

On Monday, SEFCU, the South Colonie School District, and Dunkin’ Donuts filled a school bus with 1,000 coats to be handed out to people who need them the most.

“The older kids and the younger kids are really the groups that we’re really hurting.  Have fun with it, go shopping,” Gunnery Sergeant Albert Roman Jr.  “If you see a Dunkin’ Donuts, you see an SEFCU, you see a Walmart, just stop by and drop off a toy.  I promise you that you are bringing a huge smile to these children’s faces on Christmas Eve.”

In addition to the one thousand coats, SEFCU also donated 300 sets of hats, gloves, and scarves.
