Police arrest man accused of trying to rob Rotterdam Sunoco station

ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Rotterdam Police arrested a man they say tried to rob a Sunoco station on Curry Road on Tuesday.

William Pedersen, 35, of Glenville, N.Y., was arrested after police say a witness reported that she saw him running away from the gas station toward Pauline Avenue.

Police were then able to identify where Pedersen parked based on surveillance cameras from nearby businesses.

Street cameras were then able to provide a detailed description of the suspect vehicle and ultimately led to Pedersen’s arrest.

Pedersen is charged with one count of third-degree attempted robbery.

He was arraigned and remanded for lack of $10,000 bail.
