BENNINGTON, Vt. (NEWS10) – The first phase of a water line extension in North Bennington and Bennington is underway.
This, after the communities have been dealing with PFOA-contaminated water.
Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin announced Tuesday that contracts to begin the final design process were signed with Otter Creek Engineering and MSK Engineering and Design.
The cost is expected to be nearly half a million dollars, which the state will pay for.
Negotiations are continuing with Saint-Gobain, the company suspected of causing the water contamination.
