CHICAGO (NEWS10) — With Thanksgiving just days away Heniz is recalling 500 cases of gravy over issues it says could lead to serious or life-threatening allergic reactions.
The affected product, Heinz HomeStyle Bistro Au Jus Gravy, is being voluntarily recalled because some of the jars may be mislabeled as Heinz Pork Gravy and therefore not labeled as containing milk and soy.
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk or soy run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they eat the gravy.
Heinz says there have not yet been any reports of illnesses related to the recall issue.
Customers who purchased the product should not eat it. The gravy can be returned to the store it was purchased from for an exchange or a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-866-572-3808 Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern, for a full refund.
