SCHODACK, N.Y. (NEWS10) – One local community has fulfilled the wishes of their former superintendent who died unexpectedly this summer.
Schodack Central School broke ground Tuesday, on a capital project in honor of Superintendent Bob Horan, who died of heart failure while on vacation in July.
Officials say the project will transform the school into an innovative building that will help students by making sure their needs come first.
“Bob would have been blown away, and proud of everyone here,” said Margery Horan, Bob Horan’s wife.
Construction on the $20 million project is set to begin in the next few weeks, and is expected to open in about two years.
