ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The City of Albany is opening its Code Blue shelters for Monday and Tuesday nights.
Code Blue is triggered when the temperatures dip below 20 degrees, and that includes the wind chill.
Shelters will be open at the Capital City Rescue Mission on South Pearl Street, the Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless on South Swan Street, and the Council of Churches Overflow Shelter on State Street.
Governor Andrew Cuomo signed an executive order earlier this year requiring shelters to bring in the homeless when the weather turns dangerous.
Albany Code Blue runs from November 15th – March 15th.
