ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police are investigating a stabbing that involved a large group of teenagers, leaving one person stabbed and severely injured.
Police say there were about 20 to 25 teenagers involved in the fight. Several more were watching the fight, which police say is troubling.
What started the fight is still under investigation.
Police say this is not the first time a similar incident has taken place on this street and the community should have any fear after what happened.
“It’s not always kids just being kids,” Police Chief Brendan Cox said. “It’s things like this, kids fighting each other and the residents and the businesses certainly should not have to deal with that every day.”
Police say the 15-year-old teen suffered non-life threatening injuries and is getting treatment at Albany Medical Center.
The incident remains under investigation.
