Troy community attends council meeting to speak up about 2017 budget proposals

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – People living in Troy spoke up Thursday night about the city’s budget proposal for 2017.

The main parts of the proposal are calling for a property tax increase of nearly 10 percent that came after the mayor proposed for a 28 percent hike. The city council’s proposal also calls for cutting overtime hours for fighters.

People from both sides of the aisle spoke on Thursday.

The council will vote on the proposal on November 29.
