NISKAYUNA, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Police in Niskayuna were busy Wednesday night after they say a woman crashed into a parked car and then someone’s home overnight.
They tell us it happened just after midnight on Dean Street in Niskayuna. You can see the damage caused when the parked car was pushed into the garage by the driver, and the damage done to the neighboring home after it drove through the yard.
Police say Laurie Cannelli, 52, failed to negotiate a bend in the roadway. She fled the scene on foot, but was caught shortly after on Balltown Road.
She was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal mischief, aggravated unlicensed operation, and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.
Cannelli was arraigned and and remanded to Schenectady County Jail.
Police say at this time, drugs and alcohol are not a contributing factor to the crash, but speed was.
