Two fundraisers held for Niko Dinovo to help cover medical expenses

COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A local teen seriously burned in a crash continues to get support from his community.

Niko Dinovo, 16, was badly burned after a car he was riding in crashed into Blessings Tavern and burst into flames in late-October.

Two fundraisers were held Tuesday to help raise money for his medical bills.

At Sarabella Pizza in Colonie, 10 percent of proceeds were donated. At Glennpeter Jewelers in Colonie, people donated $10 for a night of fun and entertainment.

Dinovo’s aunt, Davina Rescinitti, was at the Glennpeter event. She said he continues to fight.

“He’s doing okay,” she said. “He’s defying some of the odds already.”

Dinovo received burns over 95 percent of his body. He remains at Westchester Medical Center.
