MOREAU, N.Y. (NEWS10) — All lanes have been reopened after a serious accident involving a tractor-trailer and a car closed down two lanes of I-87 Northbound, North of Exit 17N.
New York State Police say the crash occurred at 12:49 a.m. Tuesday, when a tractor-trailer driving Northbound struck a disabled Subaru stopped in the far right driving lane.
Police say Gladys Schultz, 70, of Glens Falls was sitting in the Subaru at the time of the crash and has been airlifted to Albany Medical Center with severe head trauma in critical condition. She was wearing a seatbelt.
The tractor-trailer’s driver, Rex Walk, 56, of Dover, PA, was not injured in the crash.
Police say no charges or tickets have been issued and the crash remains under investigation.
