WASHINGTON (NEWS10) – President-elect Donald J. Trump chose Sunday Reince Priebus, the Chairman of the Republican National Committee to be his White House chief of staff.
The decision was between Priebus and Stephen K. Bannon, the right-wing media mogul who oversaw his presidential campaign.
Trump’s decision to choose Priebus is expected to have some critics angered whom expect him to battle Washington over issues such as taxes, immigration, trade, health care, and the environment.
Mr. Priebus said he looked forward to working with Mr. Bannon and Mr. Trump “to create an economy that works for everyone, secure our borders, repeal and replace Obamacare and destroy radical Islamic terrorism.”
Priebus worked closely with Trump on his presidential campaign trying to smooth his rough edges.
When Trump emerged onstage to give his victory speech early Wednesday, Trump made his appreciation clear, dismissing rumors of tension with Mr. Priebus and singing his praises.
