HUNTER, N.Y. (NEWS10) – An arrest was made following an investigation into the allegation that a man had sexually molested five children.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33-year-old Daniel Rivera from Fort Plain, N.Y.
On Friday, sheriff’s deputies went to a residence that was known to be occupied by Rivera. When they arrived, he was not there.
A further investigation led the Sheriff’s Office to look in the Village of Hunter, where he was later located at a different residence.
Rivera was charged with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child, four counts of sexual abuse in the 1st degree, four counts of menacing in the 2nd degree, one count of criminal sexual act in the 1st degree and one count of rape in the 1st degree.
Rivera was arraigned and remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
He is scheduled to reappear in court next month.
