GRANVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The family of a local service member who was killed in combat will see their son’s death honored in an initiative to help kids in the Capital Region.

Corporal Ben Osborn was killed in Afghanistan in June 2010.

Shortly after, his family began the ben Osborn Memorial Fund in his name, which was expanded to include a new literacy program.

On Friday, the Granville Ben Osborn Kiosk was dedicated to the public.

The idea of the kiosks is to provide books to children and adults at convenient locations, encouraging children to read and explore.
