SCHODACK, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Schodack Police Department was assisted by multiple law enforcement agencies in an extensive pursuit for two armed suspects, after they reportedly attempted to rob a Jewelry Repair Center.
22-year-old Scionti Laurenzo of Albany, and 21-year-old Peter Watson of Rensselaer were taken into custody in the City of Albany in the area of Huck Finn’s Warehouse.
When police responded to a report of a robbery on Columbia Turnpike Saturday afternoon, the two suspects fled the scene.
A flash broadcast of the suspects’ and vehicle description was sent out to all area law enforcement agencies.
The police located the suspects on I-90, near Exit 8. The suspects attempted to flee the police again, but instead lost control of the vehicle at the I-787 southbound exit.
The suspects fled the scene and an extensive pursuit continued on foot.
Various law enforcement agencies assisted Schodack police in attempt to locate the suspects.
Two handguns and property belonging to the Jewelry Repair Center were among some of the items recovered by police.
Both suspects were arraigned in the Town of Schodack Justice Court by Justice Wagner on counts of First-Degree Robbery and Third-Degree Grand Larceny, and remanded to Rensselaer County Jail with no bail.
