COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Some people in the Capital Region are getting an early start on Christmas presents.
Marine Corps Reserve volunteers and Dunkin Donuts stores across the region went shopping on Friday for the annual Toys for Tots Train journey through the state.
The shopping spree used a $25,000 donation from the store to fill the train for children in need this holiday season.
“It’s going to give them something to look forward to because there’s some people who don’t have any money,” Green Island Dunkin Donuts store manager Richard Rowley said. “So it’s going to give them something to look forward to at the end of the day when they can open a present and the smile on their face may be the only thing they get.”
The Toys for Tots Train will give out presents to thousands of children across New York State during its run in December.
If you want to help, there are more than 400 locations across the Capital Region where you can donate.
