VERMONT (NEWS10) — Some changes are coming for how Vermont inspects vehicles.

The “Automated Vehicle Inspection Program” will allow technicians to electronically obtain emissions related data, enter data, and send data back to the DMW, all using a tablet.

The system is set to start in Spring 2017.

The head of Vermont’s DMW said many other states already have this kind of program, and they’ve had great success.
