ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Police arrested three teenagers Tuesday evening after they allegedly robbed a man of his cellphone.
Police responded to a report of a robbery on Fourth Avenue around 11:45 p.m.
According to the police, the victim, 52, said three young males, one having a knife and another having a metal pipe, approached him and demanded his cellphone.
The victim complied, and the suspects left the scene with the cellphone.
However, during the incident, the suspects reportedly struck the victim in his head with the metal pipe and their fists.
The victim was treated at the scene by medical personnel for minor injuries.
The three suspects were taken into custody shortly after the incident. One of them was 12-years-old, and the other two were 14-years-old.
Due to their age, their names will not be released.
They were charged with robbery in the second degree. The suspect who possessed a knife, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
Both of the 14-year-olds were arraigned in the Albany City Criminal Court. The 12-year-old is scheduled to appear in Albany County Family Court at a later date.
