GAINESVILLE, Fla. (NEWS10) – Doctors say a 50-year-old man developed hepatitis after going on an energy drink binge for three weeks.
The man was previously healthy and was not on any prescription or over-the-counter medication.
Doctors say the man reported drinking four to five energy drinks daily. He developed symptoms of malaise, anorexia, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, jaundice, and dark urine.
He was treated for his symptoms.
Health officials say the development of hepatitis was likely secondary to excessive energy drink consumption.
