WATERVLIET, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The civil case against a former Watervliet school resource officer, the city, it’s school district and the Board of Education is set to go to trial.
A teenager involved in a sex scandal with Joshua Spratt, the former resource officer, filed the lawsuit.
It claims that back in 2015, Spratt was using his position to “groom” at least three students, including the plaintiff. It also alleges that employees of the school and several of Spratt’s fellow officers knew about the sexual relationships, but never reported it.
A mandatory mediation session was ordered to see if any resolution could be met, but could not settle the case.
