(NEWS10) – Starting Sunday, State Thruway Troopers along with volunteers will be on “Pumpkin Patrol”. It’s all aimed at stopping Halloween pranks and protecting drivers on the Thruway.
This year, more than 300 volunteers from 16 organizations across the state will help Troop T monitor Thruway overpasses to make sure no one is chucking pumpkins or anything else over them.
The volunteers will report any unusual activity while troopers patrol for drunk drivers.
This is the 40th annual “Pumpkin Patrol” and it continues through Halloween.
