COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A community will have a chance to weigh in on a controversial proposal to expand the town landfill on Tuesday.
The proposal to increase the size of the landfill by 132 acres would extend its life to 2040. At its current size, it will be full by 2018.
However, plans to increase the size has been met with backlash from people in the community. Some frustrated with the eyesore, others citing the environmental impact.
A public hearing will be held inside the Shaker High School auditorium at 6:00 p.m.
