TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Local candidates facing off in November’s election looked to gain some momentum Monday in a televised debate.
Republican John Faso and Democrat Zephyr Teachout took part in a Time Warner Cable Debate at the Woodstock Playhouse.
The two candidates went back-and-forth about how they planned to improve New York’s 19th Congressional District. Things got heated when the topic of property taxes was addressed.
Also debating were the candidates in the 21st Congressional District.
Incumbent Republican Elise Stefanik took on Democratic challenger Mike Derrick and Green Party candidate Matt Funicello on local PBS station WMHT.
Included in the debate was if Stefanik supports Donald Trump in his run for the presidency.
Election Day is November 8.
