NYPD searching for man who stole police car

NEW YORK (AP) – Police are searching for a man who stole a marked police car that was parked in front of a Bronx precinct with its keys in the ignition.

It happened just before 6:30 a.m. Sunday outside the 50th Precinct in Kingsbridge.

Police say the man got into the squad car and drove off. Moments later he crashed into several unoccupied parked cars in University Heights.

Police say the suspect was last seen hopping into a black Lincoln Town car and speeding away.

There were no reports of any injuries.
