BRUNSWICK, N.Y. (NEWS10) – An investigation is underway at a creek in the area of South Road and Blue Factory Hill Road in Brunswick.
They are searching the woods with a metal detector. They seem to be focusing on a specific area in the woods.
Police say a male body was found wrapped in a blanket and appeared as though it had been dumped in the area.
A neighbor said he heard a woman’s scream around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday night. He says that a woman had discovered the body while walking her dog.
Officials have been at the scene since late Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning. New York State Police, the forensic unit, and members of the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office, including District Attorney Joel Abelove, responded.
A crew was investigating further down Blue Factory Hill Road where the Quacken Kill is located.
Motorists are being asked to take a detour while crews remain on scene.
