No one hurt after tree falls on customers at Glens Falls restaurant

GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A scary and unexpected moment for two women in Glens Falls when a tree fell down on them while they were eating outside of The 190 Grille restaurant Tuesday afternoon.

The owner of restaurant Heather O’Neill says the tree landed on top of the lights that were hung on the wall and then landed on their table.

When the tree fell down, O’Neill says it was nothing but a shock, but it could have been a lot worse.

O’Neill was told that the Davidson Brothers restaurant had been in contact with the city for awhile about cutting down the trees given how tall and old they are.

“I opened the door and literally heard the craziest sound,” O’Neill said. “It almost sounded like a gunshot and so I apparently started yelling ‘oh my God’ and just started running down to the table to make sure that the people were okay.”

The two women suffered only minor injuries and were not transported to the hospital. It took crews about 10 minutes to clean up the debris.
