GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The Guilderland Central School District released water test results for all of its elementary buildings.
On Friday, the school district received test results from the elementary school buildings. The district is waiting for results for the middle and high school.
The district says that all five elementary schools had some water outlets with readings above the acceptable level of 15 parts per billion (ppb). The affected outlets with a reading above 15 ppb were taken offline on Monday.
The affected outlets will not be used until follow-up tests indicate levels are below 15 ppb.
In September, Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a new law requiring public schools to test all drinking water outlets that are currently or potentially being used for drinking or cooking for lead.
