Police: Man arrested for being accused of hitting dog with car, leaving scene of accident


STEPHENTOWN, N.Y. (NEWS10) — State police in Schodack responded to a report for a motor vehicle accident involving a dog in Stephentown.

Police say a driver allegedly struck and killed a dog with a motor vehicle and then left the scene of the accident.

The driver, Joel Rose, 47, of Nassau, was arrested for aggravated cruelty to animals, also known as “Buster’s Law,” and criminal mischief.

Rose was released with appearance tickets.
