CLAVERACK, N.Y. (NEWS10) — State troopers say they arrested a man on Wednesday after he was accused of fleeing a police officer, driving while intoxicated, and possessing marijuana.
According to the police, Adam Kane, 35, of Hudson, was driving 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. The vehicle failed to comply with the emergency vehicle’s lights and sirens, and allegedly continued driving onto State Route 23.
After Kane stopped in the area of the Claverack fire house, officers approached the vehicle and police say Kane took off at a reportedly high rate of speed.
The vehicle was stopped again and Kane resisted arrest. Police found that Kane was intoxicated at the time of the stop.
His breath sample revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of more than two times the legal limit of intoxication, at .18%.
Police say Kane was also charged with possessing approximately 2.8 grams of marijuana.
Kane was arraigned and remanded to the Columbia County Jail.
