SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Saratoga Police say they have recently come across heroin paraphernalia in public access areas.
The paraphernalia typically consists of a syringe, a spoon, and a few envelopes. They have been found in restrooms in retail stores, convenient stores, fast food shops, recreational areas, and sometimes at outdoor locations.
Police say they do not believe the items are left with ill intent but do say it poses a public safety and health concern.
“Our community is not immune to the heroin situation that is affecting New York State and elsewhere. The Saratoga Springs Police Department is not only tasked with investigating heroin activity within the city but also with informing the community in regards to potential safety concerns.”
Anyone who comes across any drug paraphernalia is urged to notify the person responsible for the location and/or contact your local police agency.
