NEW YORK (NEWS10) – Fox News anchor Shep Smith’s ominous warning on Hurricane Matthew during his show on Thursday is drawing some controversy online.

“This moves 20 miles to the west, and you and everyone you know are dead. All of you because, you can’t survive it,” Smith said during his show on Thursday. “It’s not possible unless you’re very, very lucky. And your kids die, too.”

During his show, Smith was urging people to evacuate before Matthew made landfall in Florida.

On Thursday, President Barack Obama declared a state of emergency in Florida and South Carolina.
