SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The man accused of breaking into the home of an elderly woman and sexually assaulting her, has pleaded guilty.
David Sinkler pleaded guilty in Schenectady County Court on Thursday to criminal sexual act, and burglary.
He faces up to 22 years behind bars when sentenced in December.
Back in February, Sinkler forced his way into the victim’s apartment. The investigation began when the victim called 9-1-1 just minutes after Sinkler left.
She was able to identify him from a photo lineup.
Later, investigators were able to match DNA and fingerprints already on file, based on a prior conviction for attempted forcible touching and public lewdness.
