ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Albany police are investigating a bank robbery at First Niagara that occurred Wednesday afternoon.
Police say at approximately 1:40 p.m., they responded to the bank, located at 120 State St., for a report of a robbery.
When they arrived, an employee reportedly told officers that a male suspect approached the counter, told the teller that he had a handgun, and demanded money.
After receiving the money, the suspect left the scene with an undetermined amount of cash.
There are no reported injuries.
Police say the suspect is described as a white male, 5’9”, and 180 lbs. He was last seen wearing dark colored clothing.
Police are still investigating the incident and say it is unclear if the robbery is connected to another bank robbery that occurred Sept. 26 at M&T Bank, located on State St.
