ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – A former President, who’s buried right here in Albany Rural Cemetery, is being honored Wednesday.
Chester A. Arthur was America’s 21st President. This wreath laying ceremony is an annual event.
Arthur was born in Vermont and graduated from Union College. Arthur was elected Vice President in 1881 and became President later that year when James Garfield died.
Wednesday, the New York National Guard will honor Arthur with a formal wreath laying on his gravesite.
Wednesday would have been his 187th birthday.
