Insulin pump vulnerable to hacking

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (CNN) – People with insulin pumps may be in danger as a hacker could exploit to overdose diabetic patients.

Johnson & Johnson is telling patients that is has learned of a security vulnerability in one of its insulin pumps.

A hacker reportedly could ping insulin devices and potentially overdose patients with insulin up to 25 feet away.

The company says if patients are concerned, they can discontinue the wireless remote control and program the pump to limit the maximum insulin dose.
