Man re-convicted of 2008 murder sentenced

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A Schenectady man re-convicted for shooting a man to death back in 2008 has been sentenced to 53 and a half years to life in prison.

It’s the second conviction for Jeremiah Hamilton, a.k.a. “Havoc”, after he was convicted of the same counts back in 2013 and sentenced to 42 years to life in prison.

That conviction was overturned after the State Supreme Court ruled that a juror shouldn’t have been on the panel due to a personal relationship with a witness.

The judge refused, so the defense appealed the conviction, which they won.
