JOHNSTOWN, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The man who admitted to brutally killing his wife learned his fate in court on Monday.

Frank Ostrander was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison for killing Sally Ostrander with a hatchet, fire poker and knife in their Gloversville home. Police made the discovery in February.

The day of the killing, investigators said Ostrander called police to tell them a burglar was in their house. But when authorities arrived, they found Sally dead.

Ostrander later admitted he attacked her, hit her several times over the head, struck her with the fire poker, and finally stabbed her to death.
