COPAKE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Family and friends came out on Sunday to celebrate the life of a woman who was found dead last month.
The event was held in celebration of 21-year-old Halle Schmidt at the Copake Town Park.
It has been almost a month since Schmidt’s body was found in a wooded area in Kinderhook.
Police were able to interview a possible witness, but there are still a lot of questions that need to be answered.
“At this point in time in the investigation, we haven’t gotten any real solid answers,” Schmidt’s step-father, Ron Love, said. “They’re not really telling us anything. If they do so, we really need the community’s support in finding what happened to Halle that night.”
The investigation is still ongoing into what lead to Schmidt’s death and disappearance.
If you have any information, you are asked to contact the police.
