ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The VA Hospital has teamed up with other organizations to give coats to veterans in need.
They used money raised from drives to purchase the coats.
This is the second year they have been able to hand out winter coats to veterans.
“Well what we’ve done is work with the Hayband Corporation and we use our donations from the poppy drive to purchase clothing for needy vets,” David Brinkmoeller, of VFW 1498 said. “When a vet needs clothing, they supply it to them.”
So far 127 have been purchased to give to veterans and 404 items have been donated to the VA Hospital.
