LEE, Mass. (NEWS10) – State police detectives are investigating the theft from the Lee Police Department.

It was back in July when cash from a recent theft investigation was first discovered missing.

More than $1,400 cash was taken, as well as opioid medications received by the department’s drop off box for unused and unwanted medications.

An immediate investigation was launched and at the time, Officer Ryan Lucy, one of two assigned evidence officers for the Lee Police Department, resigned and entered rehab for substance abuse.

The Berkshire County District Attorney’s office is handling the case.

The investigation is ongoing.
